Steel elbows are connecting elements of pipelines designed to change the direction of the steel pipeline at an angle of 30, 45, 60 or 90 degrees. Regarding the method of manufacture and design, elbows are divided into welded, steeply curved (forged), stamped, sector and bent.
The most common are seamless steeply curved elbows GOST 17375-01 and GOST 30753-01. Blends according to GOST 30753-01 have type 2D (radius of a bend is equal to a conditional pass), are connected to a pipe by a welding way. Different types of elbows are used in different industries, namely: metallurgy, chemical, oil and gas, food and municipal water and gas and heat supply.
